The Project Management Office (PMO) of NIA Jalaur River Multi-Purpose Project Stage II under the able leadership of Acting Regional Manager Engr. Jonel Borres continued to strengthen its partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) for enhanced security within the project. On March 12,2024, the PMO signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the PNP 6 under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky. This partnership aims to further strengthen peace and security in the project sites especially now that the JRMP II is about to be completed. The security framework of JRMP II is part of the Inter-Agency Convergence Mechanism for the implementation of the project which started on July 30, 2014. Last year, November 30, 2023, the PMO also inked a MOA with the Philippine Army (PA) for security within the project site. Considered a game-changer for the Province and City of Iloilo because of its benefits including increase in rice production, hydroelectric power, bulk water, flood mitigation and eco-cultural tourism among others, JRMP II remains a timely development project for Iloilo and the entire Western Visayas Region.
