DAEWOO E&C TURNS OVER CHEQUE TO INDIGENOUS PEOPLES ORGANIZATION

JRMP II International Contractor, DAEWOO E&C turned over cheque to Indigenous Peoples Organization of Barangay Garangan, Masaroy and Acgalaga CADT (IPOGMAC) on January 4, 2024. The activity was made pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) by and between NIA JRMP II, National Commission on the Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) and 16 Upland Cultural Communities of Calinog where a royalty must be paid to the concerned IP community for every sourced out sand and gravel/ quarry materials taken from their ancestral domain. It has been agreed by the abovementioned parties, most particularly the Barangay Garangan , Masaroy and Agcalaga Council of Elders, to pay first the materials taken from the diversion tunnels of the JRMP II High Dam and Afterbay Dam given it fixed and mutually consolidated volume of 37,791.51 cubic meters. Present in the activity were DAEWOO E&C representatives’ Suewong Oh and Kyuhyeok Choi, NCIP Development Management Officer Hazel Acse and Administrative Officer Jona Lebuna, JRMP II Institutional Development Division Manager Ruth Cely Jamelo, Watershed Management Chief Steve Cordero and all the members of the IPOGMAC. /JP Steve Co
