NIA runs for Marawi Heroes

In support to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and their families, Jalaur River Multi-Purpose Project Stage II (JRMP II) joined the 6th Heroes Run on November 26, 2017.

Members of the AFP, government offices, schools and private individuals gathered in Plazuela de Iloilo at 4:00 in the morning for the nationwide fun run.

Participants were able to choose from different categories based on the numberof kilometers they want to run such as the following: 3km, 5km, 10km and 21km. Organizers also distributed loot bags, shirts and light breakfast to the participants.

Employees of JMRP II did not mind the hassle of waking up early even on a Sunday for the said activity. The event started with a short program and warm exercises followed by the actual run per category. Medical teams and water stations were also assigned along the routes of each category.

Proceeds of said event will go to projects and programs for the men in uniform especially those who respond to the war in Marawi. It also aims to help boost their morale and confidence after battling terrorist groups and recover from the bad experiences.
