         INFORMATION EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION (IEC) TEAM

                                     ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

                                                (January-May 2015)

 

  1. OBJECTIVES

The IEC for JRMP II aims to develop a comprehensive and feasible public relations plan anchored on sound and deliberate media & community relations activities all focused on creating shared vision and values among the stakeholders. Specifically it endeavors to achieve the following:

  1. Develop and sustain a strong, positive image of JRMP II anchored on Media and Community Relations for greater public acceptance;
  2. Make the target audience understand, appreciate, and support the implementation of the project.
  3. Establish JRMP II as a brand equated to a partner in progress and catalyst for countryside development and inclusive growth particularly in agriculture, tourism, livelihood, and culture.
  1. KEY MESSAGES
    1. JRMP II is a catalyst for inclusive countryside development and partner in progress which will benefit the stakeholders from the immediate communities to the urban-dwellers in Iloilo City for generations to come;
    2. JRMP II will harness, and not destroy, the full potential of God-given natural resources particularly the Jalaur River.
  2. TARGET AUDIENCE
    1. Project Affected Families (PAFs), directly and indirectly, both in the Upland and Lowland Areas,
    2. Lawmakers, urban decision-makers, and other government agencies, both in the local and national levels,
    3. The general public both in the local, national, or even in the international levels,
    4. NIA employees both in the local and national levels,
    5. Media Organizations/ Entities, local and national,
    6. Civic Groups, Non-Government Organizations, Peoples’ Organization, and other entities both supportive and apprehensive of the project,

  1. IEC FRAMEWORK

The IEC Framework for JRMP II is divided into three major tasks, (a) Branding and Advertising, (b) Media and Public Relations and (c) Community and Government Relations.

The Branding and Advertising Component of the IEC Plan apply to the management of the project as a brand equated to development. This intends to enhance and strengthen efforts in introducing the project and creating project recall among stakeholders and general public. The Media and Public Relations Component deals with raising people’s awareness of the project through harnessing all forms of mass and social media. The Community and Government Relations Component provides for community-based IEC campaigns and social marketing for the project that all aim at preparing and mobilizing people, direct and indirect stakeholders, and the general public, to accept and support the project.
